Jetour Wants to Be Part of the Trip, and It Has Started With 300 Clubs

Jetour's Travel+ programme runs more than 300 owner clubs, has a partnership with the Malaysia Marathon and staged a camping market in eastern China last week. The company has not published how many of its owners travel with the car.

The camping market, the Starry Night Forum and the mountain-road drives were all part of the same four days. From 20 to 23 October, Jetour staged its Global Technology Experience Day across Wuhu, in Anhui, and Moganshan, in Zhejiang. Its release lists what went on the programme: mountain-road test drives at Moganshan on 21 October, a camping market, outdoor living sessions and conservation activities, among them a project for the crested ibis at Xiazhu Lake.

For a carmaker, it was an unusual itinerary. Jetour calls its vehicles a "mobile third space" and describes its customers' journeys as running across city, mountain and wetland. The question for a travel reader is whether the club is the trip or the brochure for it. Jetour has built the structure of a travel community: more than 300 clubs worldwide with more than 31,000 owners, according to its July release, and more than 500 road trips, camping events and other activities in 2025. The company has published no figure for how many owners join them, how far they go or what they spend on the road. Until that data exists, the clubs read as a statement of brand character.

The Clubs Are Small Beside the Fleet

Set against the 2.4 million vehicles Jetour says it has sold, 31,000 club owners come to about one in 77. Vehicles and owners are different counts, so the ratio is a rough scale and nothing more. The activity figure is similarly round: more than 500 events across more than 300 clubs works out at one or two a club a year at most.

The community has a lifestyle layer. AutoIndustriya reports that Jetour signed the DJ Alan Walker as brand ambassador in 2025, with his track "Forever Young" as the brand theme, and encourages owners to personalise their vehicles in what it calls "Refit" culture. The July release says customisation services have reached more than 30 countries and regions. Jetour says it wants to be a "travel lifestyle service provider", in AutoIndustriya's paraphrase of the company's Auto China presentation.

Partnerships That Follow the Traveller

The release names three partnerships: the Chilean football club Colo-Colo, the basketball federation FIBA and the Malaysia Marathon. It also lists five conservation projects: the crested ibis at Xiazhu Lake in Zhejiang, cheetahs in Africa, turtles in Malaysia, the harpy eagle in Panama and the markhor in Pakistan. "Travel is about understanding cultures and protecting nature as well as exploration," the release says. It gives no amounts or results for any of the five projects, so the programme can be read as intent for now.

A Car Built for the Easy Trip

A travel brand depends on the vehicle going where the story says it goes. Denis Droppa, Business Day's group motoring editor, wrote that the petrol all-wheel-drive T2 can handle mild off-road use, with 220 mm of ground clearance and an electronic rear limited-slip differential, but has no low-range gearing. Jetour says the T2 won the Mild Adventure category championship at the 2026 South Africa Car of the Year awards, a claim Automotive World reported from the company. The category name sits close to Droppa's description.

The vehicle for longer expeditions is the G700, a full-size plug-in hybrid SUV built for the upmarket plan Chery announced on 7 October. paultan.org expects it in Malaysia next year at about RM250,000, an estimate Jetour Malaysia has not confirmed. No independent test of the G700 appears in the sources reviewed here. OpenTechWire examines the hardware claims, and BriefAsia covers the pricing case.

What to Watch

Three things would turn the club story into evidence. A dated club membership figure in Jetour's next release would show growth. Independent accounts of club trips, with route, season and vehicle named, would show where owners actually go. A confirmed G700 price from Jetour Malaysia would show how far the brand expects its travel positioning to carry.

The 31,000 figure carries no date in the July release, so it cannot yet be compared with anything.
